“Dear Everyone,
We just returned from a trip to Smokey House where we began to plant our Smokey House garden. The food we grow in the garden will benefit the Community Food Cupboard in Manchester because everyone deserves the right to have healthy food. We translated our tomatoes because they were huge and getting leggy. We started eggplants and peppers in the greenhouse. We direct sowed spinach, carrots and peas. We were surprised by how much had already been done at Smokey House, that there are different color carrots, how well Ryder can transplant, that you can make a tee-pee for peas to grow on, that pea seeds look like peas and that carrot seeds come from carrot flowers. Thank you so much Jamie and Jesse for getting the garden beds ready for us and to Laura for hosting us. We love going to Smokey House and can’t wait to go back this week and plant more.
“One day it was 86 degrees!! And like two days ago I saw a car with snow on it and on that day it got up to 75 degrees. Today at 8:35 it was 79 degrees! Crazy right? So I guess spring is really springing into warmth! Here is a poem about spring…
The spring is really springing
You can hear the birds are really singing
Do you like it? Anyway, we have been playing football and a lot more games. Please hope for more warm weather!”-Noah with a case of spring fever
“One day the Game Warden came to the school. He did boring stuff. He walked around in the school. He came to inspect the school. It was awesome because he put his strobe lights on.”-Colby
“On a warm day, there were no clouds in the sky we started our Espanol restarante. We made a lot of menus. Some of the menus are cheat menus because parents do not know Epsanol. Next week we are going to practice for the restarante. It will be fun because we get to cook.”-Emma
“This week Emma and Colby taught yoga. They did a warm-up. They read a book and did poses and showed us a new game and cool down. My favorite part was the warm-up because I like to strike a pose.”-Gabriel
“On Tuesday we learned a new song called “With a little help from friends” by The Beatles. Here is the song…
Would you stand up and walk out on me?
Lend me your ears and I’ll sing you a song
I will try not to sing out of key
All I need is my buddies (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
I say I’m gonna get high (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
Oh yeah (Ooh)
(Does it worry you to be alone?)
No no
How do I feel at the end of the day?
(Are you sad because you’re on your own?)
I tell ya I don’t get sad no more
Yeah yeah, I’m gonna try (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
Keep on getting high, oh Lord (Ooh)
(Could it be anybody?)
All I need is someone
That’s just where I’m going, yeah
Somebody knows that’s where I’m showing
Baby
Oh, I’m gonna keep on trying (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
I’m gonna keep on trying (Ooh)
(What do you see when you turn out the light?)
I can’t tell you but it sure feels like mine
I promised myself I’d get by (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
Said I’m gonna try and not work too hard (Ooh)
(Could it be anybody?)
Oh there’s gotta be somebody
Don’t treat me wrong Lord
Oh yeah yeah
Oh, yes I’m gonna keep trying, now (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
Keep on trying with my friends (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
Oh, I’m never gonna stop there, oh (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
I’m gonna keep on trying, yeah yeah (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
I’m getting high, I’m gonna make time, oh Lord (Ooh)
Gonna get by with my friends
Oh, I’m gonna get on by, yes I’m gonna get on by, my Lord
I’m gonna tell them all about it, I’m gonna tell them all, yeah yeah
“We did jumping jacks in P.E with Maxine on Thursday. She brought in music too.”-Caleb (Thank you so much Maxine for the aerobics!)
“On Thursday we finished our farm animal books. I wrote a book on oxen. We needed to finish our books so that we could read them at a potluck at Earth Sky Time. We made them with salt, paper, watercolor paint and glue and writing. I felt awesome because I finished.”-Addis

“On one Thursday we had a potluck at Eden’s house and we read our farm animal books. We ate food and it was at 5:30. We built sets for the play. I am excited because the potluck is today.”-Jade (Thank you so much Levis’ for your hospitality)
